Summary

Gordon Henderson ( http://digital.huroncounty.ca/about-the-collection/j-gordon-henderson ) ..Description: .Black and white image of class 98 of No. 12 Elementary Flight Training School. There are four rows of men in British Fleet Air Arm uniforms. The two back rows are standing, the next row is sitting on chairs, the very front row is kneeling on the ground outside on a runway with the top of an airplane visible in the background. 'Flight 98' appears at the bottom of the pictures. Three of the pictures have had the top of photograph cut off. There are 5 black and white photographs (labelled a - e) and 1 negative (labelled f). During World War II, Goderich Airport hosted No. 12 Elementary Flying Training School for the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, providing initial pilot training for aircrews using the Fleet Finch.[3]No. 12 EFTS opened on October 14, 1940 and closed on July 14, 1944.
