There are four rows of men in British Fleet Air Arm uniforms. The two back rows are standing, the next row is sitting on chairs, and the front row is crouching on the ground outside on a runway with the top of an airplane and barracks visible in the background. 'Flight No. 105' appears at the bottom of the pictures. There is 1 black and white photograph (labelled a) and 2 negatives (labelled b & c). During World War II, Goderich Airport hosted No. 12 Elementary Flying Training School for the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, providing initial pilot training for aircrews using the Fleet Finch.[3]No. 12 EFTS opened on October 14, 1940 and closed on July 14, 1944.
